AMD has already its name in the processor marketplace by manufacturing some of the most advanced and highly advanced processors. But, now it has come up yet another innovation with an 8-core processor to revolutionize the computing world. AMD, Advanced Micro Devices has revealed its new series of FX-9000 – the first ever 8-core processor with 5GHz clock rate. This revelation was done at Electronic Entertainment Expo, E3 2013 which is an annual show and video game conference at Los Angeles. It is (self proclaimed) first one in the world to be equipped with a clock speed of up to 5GHz.
AMD has launched not one but two in this series which are supposed to be available globally from System Integrators this summer. The two models are –
  • FX-9590 having 8 core processor (Pile-driver) and a 5 GHz Max Turbo
  • FX-9370 having 8 core processor (Pile-driver) and a 4.7 GHz Max Turbo
The two systems are equipped with advanced 8 core processor that incorporates the unique “Pile-driver” architecture. These two CPUs along with these hi-tech attributes also offer high speeds, unlocking for easy over clocking and AMD Turbo Core 3.0 technology. The latter enthusiastically optimize the performance of system effectively across CPU cores while enabling utmost superior quality computing experience for the most rigorous workloads.
Packed with superior quality and top level qualities, these systems are supposed to be world’s first ever PCs to be operational with eight-core and 5 (&4.7) GHz processor. Hence it is supposedly the most influential and powerful system processor in the AMD’s FX group of CPUs.
Initially FX-9590 & FX-9370 will be sold by AMD’s system integrator partners in gaming & multimedia desktop PCs but reports say that possible plans are there for a standalone “Black Edition’ in coming future.
