The law enforcement agencies of the country will be capable of tracking the e-mails and its attachments soon on the real time basis over the Blackberry’s devices. Not only this, but they would also be capable of checking that weather the chat messages sent over BBM (BlackBerry Messenger) have been read or delivered. Along with these, the web browsing facilities of the Blackberry devices would also be interceptable. These decisions have brought an end to the long stretched dispute between the Canadian smart phone maker enterprise and Indian government over the interception of the online communication on its devices.
An internal document of DoT brings forward the dispute settlement, that says, except for barring a few minor issues for the improvement of viewers, the dispute has been settled. It also mentioned that the lawful interception system for the  online communication services offered by BlackBerry is ready to use.  However, the government has dropped its stringent demand for accessing the corporate e-mail service offered by BlackBerry rendered through its Blackberry Enterprise Server. It seems that law enforcement agencies are content and satisfied only with the identities of the corporates that are using this service.
The Blackberry’s spokes person said that the company has delivered an apt solution which enabled the wireless carriers of India to rightly address their lawful requisites pertaining to access to consumer messaging and email services, that include BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) and BBM. The lawful access abilities available to the BlackBerry’s carrier associates complies with the standard needed by the Indian government for all sorts of consumer messaging services offered to the users in the Indian market place. The point pertaining to the fact that this interception has not been enabled on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server was profoundly stressed by the spokesperson.
