Blackberry, a world renowned telecom brand, has launched a service that allows corporate clients as well as government agencies to manage and secure devices that are powered by iOS operating system from Apple Inc and Android platform from Google Inc. This was one of the awaited technology innovations.
This long expected service that according to blackberry would come up by the mid year, will be able to help the corporation to vend high margin offerings & services to its broader level clientele irrespective of the factor that whether their workers are making use of Smartphone from other companies, even Blackberry’s competitors.
Blackberry which once ruled the world of Smartphone is now somehow fighting to recuperate the ground that it lost to iPhone by Apple and Galaxy devices from Samsung. In order to fight back and compete on wider range, Blackberry has turned around a trio of devices that are powered by latest ‘BlackBerry 10 operating system’. Blackberry is all set to win back its users with Q5, Q10 and Z10 devices. This trio of devices was reveled around first half of this year.
The head of project mobile computing at BlackBerry, David Smith, said in an interview, “We now also have a secure work space on Android and iOS that allows our clients to secure and manage the data on those devices as well.”
This new ‘Secure Work Space’ trait will be handled via BES (BlackBerry Enterprise Service) 10. BES is a new back end system that was launched at the beginning of this year allowing BlackBerry’s patrons to manage mobile devices successfully on their required internal networks. This much awaited service will hopefully get Blackberry to the leading seat. The increased usage of android and iOS oriented phones has persuaded Blackberry to come up with this concept.
