The users of tech giant Google can now connect with other people online and can place video calls from Chrome, Google+ and Gmail. Google released an update today that pertains to the restoration of the ability of placing phone calls through its messaging system – Google Hangouts.
This newer functionality that will roll out in next few days will provide the Google users the service of calling on people’s mobile phones from the Google interfaces and the user can hold the conversations with up to 10 people at a time. Google, the web giant also announced that the calls to Canada and USA will be totally free from the countries where the facility of hangout is available.
In an official statement, the spokesperson of Google mentioned that this is just the beginning and also shared the plans pertaining to the integration of more voice features in the Google hangouts. This implies that users can expect great functionality and amazing set of features from Google hangouts in the days to come.
This update related to Google hangout can be considered as the fulfilment of the promise that the tech giant Google made in May’ 2013, when an update to the hangout service resulted in removing the outbound phone call facility from the Google hangouts. However, this update only blocked the outbound calls and the incoming calls were available. But this made users face many problems who relied heavily on Google’s outbound call facilities. In order to restore the trust of the users, Google promised to refurbish this facility on its hangouts.
Now, Google not only restored the facility but is also planning to introduce few new updates that enhance the usefulness of the Google hangouts. Users can now also make outbound phone calls from Gmail’s G-talk application
