Halalgoogling: Search engine for Muslims launches

A Muslim search engine with the name Halalgoogling has been launched in Islamabad. This search engine follows Islamic law and thus blocks all the forbidden content. A press release pertaining to this new search engine revealed that it fetches search results from the leading search engines like Bing and Google. However, the search results are filtered before display through an inbuilt advanced filtering system which blocks certain content that the Muslim religion terms as Haram as per the Islamic Law.
This special filtering system excludes the content from the search results which refers to nudity, pornography, gambling, bisexuality and anti-Islamic content. This system has been specifically designed to respect the Muslim culture, religion and traditions.
As per a related report, a special team of internet and networking experts from all over the globe had been working on this project for several years. This project was the result of more than 1.5 billion Muslim people all over the world who were worried about the haram content that was spread all over the internet that their children had access to.
The filtering system that this search engine is utilizing is being continuously updated and this newly introduced search engine aspires to become the number one search engine website to be used by Muslim community all over the globe. The filtering system that this search engine is equipped with includes several components that ensure safe search. These components are:
  • List of forbidden or blacklisted sites

  • Report button that provided the facility of reporting the websites found with haram content in the search results
  • An option to see the search results exclusively from the Pakistan only.
